Originally designed to be a drink to be consumed quickly enough that it is icy cold until the finish. The Martini is one of the most emblematic drinks out there, the sexy glass, clear liquor and green olive are an old-school image that symbolizes style and nightlife everywhere.
There are different takes on this drink, many bartenders like it with lots of vermouth while other like it with as little as possible. The important thing here is to make sure it’s fresh; stale vermouth loses its aromatic botanical properties and will break the harmony of the cocktail.
Next we’ll explain our favorite recipe of this emblematic drink.
4 oz. Gin.
½ oz. Vermouth.
1 Green olive.
1 Cocktail glass.
Pour the dry vermouth (Noilly Prat) into a chilled cocktail glass, stir for 10 seconds and then stray out. Add the gin (Tanqueray, Beefeater, Junipero or Bombay) to a mixing glass filled with ice, stir briskly, don’t shake, and strain into the cocktail glass. Finally garnish with the green olive, sit and enjoy the show.
