The artisanal processes used to craft your sneakers are usually reserved for high-end shoes. This includes details such as hand cutting and hand finishing the leather. It takes longer to complete but results in durable sneakers with a premium look and lots of character.

PROPER LASTING 

Long term structural integrity.

To ensure your sneakers have a firm, stable shape and structural integrity, we humidify the leather of the upper and place it on a foot-shaped mold called a last. There it air dries for at least 72 hours during which time the shape solidifies, and the leather fibers bond together. This guarantees your sneakers will retain their shape for a very long time.

Pull-Up Leather

Robust pull-up leather is created by infusing the hides with hot oil emulsions and natural waxes during the tanning process. It takes on scuffs and scrapes better than any other, and develops an intriguing depth as it’s worn in.

Vachetta Leather Lining

A wholecut piece of soft Vachetta leather lines the interior of your shoes to smooth over any joints or seams. Its natural temperature regulating, moisture absorbing, odor controlling and breathability properties will also keep your feet fresh and comfortable.

Waxed Thread

Strong, flexible and resistant to wear and tear, waxed thread weaves easily through leather and acts as a sealant against moisture, mildew and dirt. It keeps your items intact and won’t unravel due to the lock stitching method we use.

Rubber Sole

The natural rubber used for the soles of our sneakers is vulcanized and blended with other materials, such as recycled rubber, to improve resilience, strength, flexibility and water resistance. Count on them for stability, excellent traction, support and buoyancy.

Waxed Cotton Laces

Round, waxed cotton laces present a reserved appearance with a touch of flair. They slide easily through eyelets and tend to stay tied, and the wax helps prevent fraying while prolonging the life of the laces.

  • What is your manufacturing process? 

    It takes at least 150 manual steps to make a pair of Beckett Simonon sneakers. Our highly skilled and dedicated artisans either execute the step by hand (as in the cutting of leather and application of the soles) or with the help of a hand-operated machine. The entire process takes between 6 to 8 weeks to complete since we don't cut corners and pay extra attention to every detail in order to guarantee the longevity of our products and your continued satisfaction.

  • What size should I order?

    If you know your Brannock device size (the measurement tool you see in shoe stores), order that size. If you don’t know this size, but have dress shoes from other high-end brands, use that size. For reference, see our size chart. Please contact Customer Service if you need a personalized recommendation.

    All of our shoes are made with a standard D width, however, if you require a wide or slender fit, we might be able to accommodate you:

    If you have a wide foot, such as an E width, going up a half size should work for you (for example if you are a size 9E, order 9.5 with us).

    If you have a slender foot, such as a C width, going down a half size should work for you (for example if you are a size 9C, order 8.5 with us).

  • How long does it take for Beckett Simonon sneakers to break-in?

    Generally, your sneakers should be comfortable straight out of the box and require little or no break-in period. However, it’s a personal experience which depends on your foot shape, making sure you have the correct size, the types of socks you wear and the way you walk. If you find the sneakers too stiff at first, don’t worry - they’ll soften and conform to the shape of your feet over time. If you experience any discomfort, we recommend you wear your sneakers indoors before wearing them for a long period outside. If it persists, please contact Customer Service.
