What is your manufacturing process?

It takes at least 150 manual steps to make a pair of Beckett Simonon shoes. Our highly skilled and dedicated artisans either execute the step by hand (as in the cutting of leather and application of the soles) or with the help of a hand-operated machine. The entire process takes between 10 to 12 weeks to complete since we don't cut corners and pay extra attention to every detail in order to guarantee the longevity of our products and your continued satisfaction.

What size should I order?

We have taken care to create shoes and boots that are available in a range of sizes, and fit true to size. If you already have similar shoes (i.e. loafers) or boots (i.e. pointed toe) that fit you comfortably, refer to that size. Remember that one foot is usually slightly larger than the other, and we recommend that you order the size of your larger foot to ensure comfort. If you have a wide foot, going up a half size should work for you (for example if you are a size 9, order 9.5 with us). If you have a slender foot, going down a half size should work for you (for example if you are a size 9, order 8.5 with us). How long does it take to break-in the shoes?

Generally, your shoes should be comfortable straight out of the box and require little or no break-in period. However, it’s a personal experience which depends on your foot shape, making sure you have the correct size, the types of socks you wear and the way you walk. If you find the shoes too stiff at first, don’t worry - they’ll soften and conform to the shape of your feet over time. If you experience any discomfort, we recommend you wear your shoes indoors before wearing them for a long period outside. If it persists, please contact Customer Service.

Water-Repellent Suede

This alluring, durable water-repellent suede holds up incredibly well all year round. The downy surface looks beautiful and will age gracefully the more you wear it, and it’s surprisingly easy to maintain with the right brushes and shoe care products.

Vachetta Leather Lining

A wholecut piece of soft Vachetta leather lines the interior of your shoes to smooth over any joints or seams. Its natural temperature regulating, moisture absorbing, odor controlling and breathability properties will also keep your feet fresh and comfortable.

Waxed Thread

Strong, flexible and resistant to wear and tear, waxed thread weaves easily through leather and acts as a sealant against moisture, mildew and dirt. It keeps your items intact and won’t unravel due to the lock stitching method we use.

Leather Sole

The soles are crafted from full-grain, veg-tan leather bends which give you an excellent balance between comfort and sturdiness. Robust yet flexible, this material is prized for its beauty, durability and practicality. It’s also easy to resole when needed.

EVA Inserts

Delicate, supportive and shock absorbing EVA inserts pamper, refresh and rejuvenate your feet with a cushiony, airy surface. Over time they’ll conform to the unique shape of your feet, and come to feel like a custom-made footbed.
